Chip Thomas

Chip Thomas, native of North Carolina, has lived and worked at the Inscription House Health Center on the Navajo Nation as a physician since 1987. As a self taught photographer, he has had the privilege to photodocument this culture in transition.

He believes the reservation is a place of sharp contrasts. It is a land of immense beauty inhabited by people whose culture is rich with tradition and a passion for the Navajo way. His experiences have led him to conclude that sheep herding on the rez is simply an excuse to walk daily through some of the most beautiful places on earth.
